Rikoo

Terms

What governs this website, what governs the software, and what an Enterprise licence adds. The three are separate and only the third involves an invoice.

This document is a working draft. It describes how Rikoo behaves, accurately, but the entity names, addresses and jurisdictions are placeholders and it has not been reviewed by counsel. Complete it in the Studio, have it reviewed, and remove this paragraph before launch.

This website

You may read, quote and link to anything on this site. Do not attempt to disrupt it, probe it beyond what a security researcher acting in good faith would, or present its content as your own. We may change or withdraw any page at any time.

The documentation describes the software as it is intended to work. It is not a warranty, and where it describes something that is planned rather than shipped, it says so.

The software

Rikoo is one repository under three licences, and which one applies depends on which part you are using.

  • Community edition, everything outside the two directories below, under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPL-3.0-only). You may run it, read it, modify it and redistribute it. If you offer a modified Rikoo to users over a network, that licence requires you to publish your modifications under the same terms.
  • Enterprise modules, the ee/ directory, under the Rikoo Enterprise License. They stay readable and auditable, and running them in production requires a signed licence key.
  • The widget, its SDK and the browser extensions built from it, the widget/ directory, under the Rikoo Widget License. Free of charge in every edition, embeddable on the sites you operate to talk to a Rikoo instance, and not redistributable on its own, connected to another backend, or used to build a competing product. Embedding it does not affect the licence of the page it runs in.

Each licence governs your use of its part, including the disclaimer of warranty and the limitation of liability it contains. Nothing on this website adds to or subtracts from any of them.

You run the software yourself. You choose where it runs, which model providers it calls, what data you put into it, and what your agents are allowed to do. We have no access to any of it and no ability to intervene.

Enterprise modules

The enterprise modules are not covered by the licence of the core. Their own licence lets you read and evaluate them; running them in production is done under a separate commercial agreement and activated by a signed licence key issued to a named instance.

  • The key names the instance it is valid for and does not work elsewhere.
  • The modules are separable by design: if a key expires or is withdrawn, they stop loading and the open core keeps running. Nothing you created becomes unreadable.
  • The commercial agreement, not this page, sets the price, the term and the support commitments.

What we do not warrant

An agent produces text from a statistical model. It can be wrong, and it can be wrong confidently. Rikoo gives you the means to constrain, observe and audit that: versions, guardrails, citations and traces. None of that makes the output correct. Decisions taken on the strength of an agent's answer are yours.

We do not warrant that the software is free of defects, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will run uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited as set out in the AGPL for the core, in its own licence for the widget, and in the commercial agreement for the enterprise modules.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for what your agents do. Do not use Rikoo to build systems whose purpose is to deceive people about whether they are talking to a machine where that is unlawful, to generate material that is illegal where you operate, or to process personal data without a basis for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live.
